The second number (after the slash) in the square brackets represents male offspring standing at stud (determined by whether they have offspring registered to them or who are known to be standing at stud).
Grey text Denotes a stallion which has expired, been gelded or is no longer at stud.
The black Bar Denotes a stallion which has either expired or been gelded and which has left either no male offspring whatsoever, or else no male offspring at stud, with which to carry on the line. In effect, this particular branch of the male line has now died out.

General Information

A total of 313 horses are registered to the Henryville line. This number makes up only 7% of the entire Canadian Horse breed.

 

The founding sire, Henryville Prince, sired 6 sons, however four branches of the Henryville sire line have already disappeared. These include Henryville Major, LG Prince Aubin, Henryville Prince Baron, and Henryville Prince Furi. Elite's and Grand Maitre's line are at significant risk of being lost with only one stallion remaining in each.
 

 

There are very few stallions left standing at stud from the remaining branches of the Henryville sire line. In total there are about 10 or so in total, and these horses are widely scattered across Canada. 1 is from Henryville Elite, 1 from Grand Maitre, and 9 from Prince Loupin. Each of these stallions have few to no male offspring, so there is a very good chance that this entire line will disappear if an effort is not made to utilize and revive it.

Addendum: as of 2006, it appears that since 2000, some gains have been made in trying to preserve this line, especially with the Noireau branch.  However the Grand Maitre and Elite lines still remain at significant risk.

 

Breakdown of Numbers

Of the 313 Henryville horses, the numbers break down as follows:

-Henryville Prince Loupin sired the majority of Henryville horses with 19 offspring of his own, and another 98 from his male descendants to make a total of 117 horses, or 37% of the Henryville line.

-Prince Loupin sired four sons, all of which went to stud:

-Mt. Rouge Loupin Noireau sired the greatest number of offspring with 24 of his own, and 16 from his descendants for a total of 40, or 41% of the Prince Loupin horses, and 13% of the Henryville horses in total. Noireau has three sons at stud. Two have no male offspring, and neither of the other two have male offspring at stud.

-Mt. Rouge Loupin Remi sired 29 offspring of his own, with an additional 8 offspring from his only son currently at stud, Mt. Rouge Remi Bandit. They make up 38% of the Prince Loupin horses, and 12 % of all Henryville Horses.




-Bromont Loupin Prince has sired 19 offspring, with an additional 5 offspring sired by his sons, to make a total of 24 horses, or 24% of the Prince Loupin Horses, and 8% of all Henryville Horses. Prince has only two sons currently at stud.

 

-Mt Rouge Loupin Ringo has sired 9 horses, none of which are at stud. This number composes 7% of the Prince Loupin horses, and approximately 2% of all Henryville Horses.

 

-Henryville Elite sired 24 horses, his descendants sired 27, for a total of 51 horses, or 16% of the Henryville line. Of the two sons at stud that Elite sired, only his son Ducat Elite Billy Jack has gone on to sire offspring which are at stud.

 

-Henryville Grand-Maitre sired 21 horses, his descendants an additional 22, for a total of 43, or 13% of the Henryville line. Henryville Grand Maitre expired in August 2000. He only sired three sons, two of which had no male offspring. His only son now at stud is Fantasia Grand-Maitre Duce, who has only had one male offspring and none at stud.

-LG Prince Aubin sired 30 horses, his descendants only 6, for a total of 36 or 11% of the Henryville line. There are no male descendants of this line left.

-Henryville Major sired 15 horses, his descendants 6, for a total of 21, or 6 % of the Henryville line. There are no male descendants of this line left.

-Henryville Prince Baron and Prince Furi each only sired one offspring, and neither had any male offspring to carry on the male line.
