Our Peafowl

We actually had no desire to have peafowl however in 2005, we were "adopted" by two gorgeous males living at liberty here in our neighbourhood in Cherry Creek. It seems that after several months worth of trying many different potential "residences" up and down the highway, they eventually settled on our place, and moved in here for good. Much to our surprise (and delight), we saw them for the first time when they "crashed" our annual July 1 BBQ and just casually sauntered through all of the people assembled here!

In the spring of 2006, we took pity on them, and decided to get them a couple "lady friends"...

They have been quite prolific, giving us a number of chicks each year.
We have found our birds to be quite intelligent as well as interactive, and they seem to have a very good sense of self preservation.

We have a limited number of peachicks available for sale each year & they are usually ready to go by September or October.
As of Sept 2012, we have one pair and several males left for sale.
